We offer our pupils a high quality of education, accessible to learners of varied abilities and different learning styles, whilst taking into consideration their social, emotional, behavioural and mental health needs.
The school is designated for 225 pupils with learning difficulties, and SEMH needs. Many pupils also have Autism Spectrum Conditions and communication difficulties or ADHD.

Blackthorn Trust's Easter Trail. Families are invited to come along any day between Monday 7th and Thursday 17th April (WEEKDAYS ONLY) to participate in an Easter Trail around the Blackthorn site. Tickets are £2 per child – after finishing the trail children will be given an Easter treat and activity pack. Visit the Blackthorn Café or Charity Shop (open weekdays from 10am to 3pm) to purchase Easter Trail tickets. Pedestrian entrances to the Blackthorn Trust site are located in St Andrew's Road, ME16 9AN (behind Blackthorn Medical Centre) or Saffron Close, ME16 0US.
