About the Rivermead/Mid Kent College Partnership
Rivermead/MidKent College Partnership
"The Rivermead/MidKent College Partnership Provision is run for 16-19 year old learners with Special Educational/Additional Needs as outlined in their Education Health and Care Plans. While Rivermead School is primarily a specialist provider for learners with Autistic Spectrum Disorder, the Sixth Form also supports a variety of other complex needs and multiple diagnoses.
Rivermead staff from school support at the college within a base room where learners access a 5-day-a-week wraparound service to ensure that the ‘every child can achieve’ ethos from the School is embedded into the joint Sixth Form. Individualised timetables are created and reviewed for each learner transitioning from School to College. These include course support, group and individual interventions, college and community inclusion and independent careers guidance which ensures that we are preparing our learners not just for college but to become successful adults in the future.
The Rivermead/Mid Kent College Partnership has 100% progression and retention rates for learners who either progress onto other college course, apprenticeships or employment."

Once pupils have been accepted onto the programme, they will be invited in for a fortnite in July as part of an induction programme. This when the main college pupils are on summer break, this 2-week programme is designed to help new pupils get used to their new surroundings, learn their new routine, meet the staff, and make new friends ready for a September start.
